Welcome, you’ve come to the right place to learn more about fireproof gun safes. We are here to provide you with the most excellent information about fireproof gun safes along with our primary information on fingerprint gun safes. By combining both of these, you can get a fireproof, fingerprint gun safe which will last you forever. After all, what good is a safe if it cannot stand up to all possible threats? Zero. So, it’s smart to invest in a quality safe that will protect your guns and firearms against any intruder or natural threat.

Fireproof gun safes are engineered to withstand fire and high temperatures thereby protecting everything inside the safe from both fire and heat. Any quality fireproof safe should have a rating indicating how high temperature it can withstand along with duration of time. Remember, most fires never get past 2,100 degrees Fahrenheit and most safes sold today are well above that threshold. A quality safe will keep the inside temperature below 300 degrees thereby keeping the inside contents, especially documents, from burning.

Fireproof gun safes were originally created back in the mid 19th century using mineral and clay composites to provide a fire/heat resistant layer over the safe. However, this was not a feasible option for any type of prolonged, high temperature fire. Especially in a building or house fire, this protective layer would last only a short while. In the early 20th century, the first viable safe was created with two layers which is still used today by most fire proof safes. Except, today they have even more layers. The outermost layer is usually a strong metal such as steel or iron. The middle layers are insulation layers. The inner layer is usually again a metal matching the outermost layer. So, it looks like the entire safe is made of only metal but this is far from true.

How can you tell if a safe is good enough to withstand fires? The best method is to actually look at the safe specifications or ask the salesperson good questions. They should know the exact answers or else they might be hiding something. You want to look at the fireboard protection along with the thickness/density of the steel or metal. The more, the better. A thicker steel wall will withstand much fiercer fires. The seal is also an important part to look at since it is the “weakest” part of the safe where fires will enter.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that no gun safe is absolute in its protection. Everything has its weakness. But for most purposes, you can look at its fire rating and figure out what you need. Average fires at home range from 600-1,300 degrees so you would likely want to get a safe with at least 1,300 degree protection for 1 hour.

You also need to look at how well built the safe is and how easy it would be to break into or take away. You want to make sure that it cannot be broken into or just taken from your home. Storing your gun in a safe is a very good idea both to protect your firearm from falling into the wrong hands whether it be an intruder or a child but also to keep your gun in good condition. Shop around and choose whichever one fits you best. I hope this article helped you learn more about fireproof gun safes and on your way to making the right choice.

So, you’ve got your safe, ideally a fingerprint gun safe, or maybe you choose the model and ready to buy. But you’re also wondering if there are any extras or gun safe accessories you should also purchase. Is this it? Well, there are a few, affordable accessories you can add to your safe. These include a dehumidifer, wall panel, lights, and more. But, the most important thing is having a dehumidifer for sure. Without it, your guns could end up becoming absolute junk.

Did you know that humidity is one of the biggest dangers with gun safes. Many people out there will buy dehumidifiers to accessorize their safes and take away dangerous moisture. Many high end, expensive gun safes will naturally come with a dehumidifer built in, but you should check first.

There are two types of dehumidifers you can buy. The economical, non-electronic packs or the slightly-electronic devices. If you don’t want to spend money on any new devices then DampRid will lower humidity by up to 50%. This is important to make sure that rust, mold, and moisture don’t build up inside the safe. These are very cheap.

Or you can buy the Eva Dry EDV 300 which requires no power and is useful in all kinds of small spaces besides just protecting your guns. They recommend areas of around 50 cubic feet. It’s also 100% renewable so you will be going green, haha. There’s an easy color sensor that tells you when you need to renew it, i.e. recharge it by plugging it into an AC power outlet. It usually seels for about $15 or so. It’s what I personally recommend. Cheap, efficient, and rechargeable.

Another suggestion for a gun safe accessory would be a door handgun kit. This helps you use more of your safe space and help with organization. It’s also called a door pistol kit. They are easily hooked up to the back of your gun safe and allows you to hold several pistols or pistol holders on the wall.

One really great version is the SWAT Mount which helps store handguns in an easily accessible manner:

It comes with a few pistol holders too making it really easy to stay organized. Nothing can be more frustrating than trying to find your gun or pistol buried at the bottom of a bunch of items on the safe floor. Sometimes it’s not only frustrating, but deadly as well. If your house has just been broken into, finding your gun as soon as possible is essential, and fishing around for it underneath a ton of crap can mean the difference between life and death.

These two gun safe accessories help to keep you more organized andsafe , very important in the event of an emergency where you need quick and easy access to your firearms and not having to worry about rust or moisture. Best of all, they cost very little compared to your actual firearms and safe. These are the most important accessories I definitely recommend.

Handgun owners have one primary worry above all others. That is how to keep their firearms safe from children but still have easy access in the possibility of an emergency. A pistol gun safe is the best way to protect your weapon from falling into the wrong hands but still being accessible. If you want to learn more about small gun pistol safes then we are here to help! I will address how to tell a good pistol safe from a bad one. One of the biggest parts of a gun safe that cannot be overlooked when choosing a pistol safe is its locking mechanism. The type of locking mechanism used determines if the box provides good protection or not. After reading this article you should be able to tell the difference between a good pistol safe and a bad pistol safe that no one should purchase.

With so many types and models available in the market, a gun owner may find it difficult to find the right pistol safe that meets his requirements. The primary factors that need to be considered in choosing the right pistol safe are price, type of lock, level of security, and construction.

A handgun safe that is worth its money will always be easy to open when you need to get to your gun. There are many different types of pistol safes that have different locking styles. Pistol safe manufacturers offer three types of locking mechanisms – the traditional dial-type dead bolt, the electronic numerical keypad lock and fingerprint or biometric lock system.

Of the three lock types, the traditional dial dead bolt is the most popular locking system because of its lower cost however, this type of lock provides the least security compared to the other lock types. The problem with a key is that when you are under stress it can be difficult to get the key into the lock. Also, it’s easy to lose a key. I would not recommend getting a safe with a key lock.

More modern handgun safes are equipped with electronic numerical keypads. They are more expensive but offer a higher level of security and are available in a variety of sizes. Most electronic gun safes are operated with basic numerical keypads. The electronic keypad safe is pretty popular in the gun industry now. They are well worth considering and they add a great deal of security to the guns.

The best type of lock is a biometric lock or a fingerprint lock. A biometric lock reads your fingerprint and then opens the lock instantly. Biometrics padlock system, also known as the fingerprint gun safe, is the best pistol. It operates based on its owner’s fingerprints. Unlike the electronic handgun safes, safes with biometrics lock system have quicker response rate when opening the lock. Gun safes equipped with the biometrics or fingerprint lock system is considered the best among all that are available in the market. It offers the highest level of safety and protection because it allows you to access your handgun silently and faster if necessary while keeping it safe.

Lots of people like to keep their valuable things at home rather than a bank security box. You can also use your pistol safe to store things such as passports, cash, photos, and valuable coins. By thinking of a pistol safe as something that can serve more than one purpose it helps to justify the expense of purchasing one.

One of the biggest brand leaders in any and all safes would have to be Cannon Safes. They offer all types of safes from wall safes, home safes, office safes, or gun safes, they have it all. If you’re looking for quality then look no further because they are absolutely the best at what they do. They are the standard when it comes to fingerprint gun safes as well.

They also offer a free lifetime replacement for their safes including a no hassle repair or replacement service for any type of emergency including robbery, fire, or flooding. This means you never have to worry after purchasing your safe about having to ever replace it.

“Nothing Protects Like a Cannon” is the motto of Cannon Safes, one of America’s best makers of safes. For over 30 years Cannon has been a pioneer in design, manufacturing and technological advancement in the safe industry. Part of the promise to their customers is ULTIMATE security for LIFE. Cannon is the only company to have a warranty that offers parts, labor and freight (all free) for repair of your safe after attempted burglary, flood or fire.

First of all, their safes come available in all different price points so you can definitely find one that fits you. There are five main series of Cannon safes.

With the Cannon Gun Safes, you get a gaint two and a quarter inch steel door, more than enough to protect any of your valuables. It has an electronic lock, and the body of it is made with a unibody build, with a rounded edge.

The body also has a drilled bottom so that you can attach or bolt it to the floor, very important for preventing criminals from taking it with them. It comes equipped with lights on the inside to enable you to see everything clearly if the area around you is dark.

Even if it’s not dark, sometimes it’s hard to see in areas of the safe without lights, and that’s what the lighting system is for. Possible extras you can get with this safe is a humidifier to keep the items in good condition.

The inside of the Cannon Gun Safe is much nicer looking than many safes, as it is built with oak, and many think this makes it one of the nicer looking ones around. Of course, looks are certainly secondary to security , but don’t completely disregard them.

As far as protecting your items from a fire, it is certified to do so for an hour and a half in a twelve hundred degree fire, so this is more than enough to keep it protected in most instances.

This assumes that you don’t live very far from the fire station, of course. Even if you do, they often times can keep your things protected. Fire safety and security are the most important things you should look for in any safe, and this one is effective at both.

The next of the Cannon Gun Safes to be reviewed is simply named the Cannon Safe Series. This one comes equipped with a one and a half inch thick door, which is slightly less thick than the traditional model described above.

The locking bolts are one inch thick, again slightly less thick then the previous model, but like the other one, comes with an electronic locking system. The fire safety ratings for this model are comparable with the previously reviewed one.

The truth is, Cannon Gun Safes rank right up there with the best safe companies on the market, and are definitely recommended.

Don’t make the mistake of not protecting our valuables from burglary, fire, or natural flood disaster. Cannon Safes provide great style without compromise, with the same advantages found on safes costing hundreds more. You can be confident in the security of your most treasured valuables.

Home and office safes are not just for the rich and wealthy. Consider how difficult it would be to replace passports, social security cards, tax documents, etc. Protect important documents with a Cannon Safe.

A fingerprint gun safe is important to keep your valuables, especially your gun, from others who shouldn’t have access to them. The great thing about a fingerprint safe is that only you can open and close the safe. There’s no worry about losing your key or forgetting a combination. Advanced technology recognizes only the fingerprints you decide can open the safe.

Any good safe can store up to 20 or more fingerprints in its memory. In addition, they will remember the prints even if its electronic source is cut off. Any good safe will also come with emergency backup keys just in case. Most can run off of as little as 2-4 AAA batteries.

They open within 4 seconds so it’s even faster than using a key.

I brought my first safe back in 2009. I love that it gives me peace of mind knowing that I can store my firearms at home without having to worry that any children will be able to have access to it. They can’t steal my fingerprint! In addition, gun safes usually give off a small alarm sound whenever the safe is opened. I would definitely recommend a fingerprint gun safe over traditional lock and key safes.

It’s not that hard for children to find your keys and open the safe. And imagine what would happen then. Or let’s say a robber breaks into your home, and you have to jumble to find your safe keys. It would be a lot easier to just press your finger against the scanner and have immediate access to your guns so you can protect your home.

Rated 4.70 Stars out of 5 Stars

This Barska Biometric AX11224 Fingerprint Gun Safe is perfect for storing away your valuable goods, guns, and other items from falling into the wrong hands. It opens with a touch of only your finger print and prevents access to all others.

This unit beeps whenever it is unlocked. It doesn’t have a removable shelf so storing things vertically can be a challenge.

You can program your prints in different positions to ensure easy and fast access. It opens in around 1 and a half seconds. You first have to press a button next to the scanner before scanning your finger. We have tested out trying to open the safe with other prints and never had a problem. It’s a good size for our needs and fits underneath our bed. It seems very stable and strong, it’s made out of steel.

After looking at many biometric safes, this one was the best in terms of price and quality. I have been very happy with my it. The safe is steel and quite strong. I am able to put 4 handguns and ammo with room to spare. The fingerprint recognition has worked flawlessly every time. I have the unit bolted to a closet wall. It is very secure and I’m sure will deter anyone from trying to steal it.

You probably won’t be putting any hunting rifles or shot guns in here, but for pistols and smallarms, it’s the perfect safe.

# Fingerprint control can store up to 30 permanent or temporary users
# Compact design makes it easy to hide nearly anywhere
# Retains fingerprint memory even when batteries are changed
# Includes emergency back-up keys
# Operates on 4 AA batteries (not included)

Dimensions: 16.5 in. L x 14.5 in. W x 7.75 in. D
Weighs 31 Pounds
Warranty: 1 year Limited Manufacturer
Made out of Steel
Model Number: AX11224
